Freedom Node helps Kootenay businesses save time and reduce monthly software costs with AI automation, custom software, and practical business technology consulting.
Every month of manual admin and overlapping subscriptions adds up. We help you find the workflows worth automating, connect the tools that earn their keep, and build custom software where it can save time and lower ongoing costs.
Automate the manual entry, chasing, and re-keying that quietly eats your team's day — and reclaim it for real work.
Replace overlapping tools with a system built around your workflow. Compare subscription fees, staff time, hosting, and maintenance before deciding what to build.
Custom software shaped to your process — not a rigid platform you bend your business around. Live in weeks, not quarters.
We review your processes, software subscriptions, and manual work to find where time and money go. Get a practical technology roadmap and a clear build-or-buy recommendation before development starts.
We build client portals, booking tools, dashboards, and operations software that fit your team. Connect the systems you already use, reduce duplicate data entry, and replace subscriptions where a custom solution makes financial sense.
Put AI to work on the tasks that slow your team down: sorting enquiries, extracting information from documents, drafting follow-ups, and finding answers in your business knowledge. We identify a useful first workflow, connect it to your tools, and keep people in control of important decisions.
Rolls your CRM, listings, market reports, marketing, and paperwork into one branded platform — with an AI agent that does the work, all on your own domain.
New — 3D tours. Brokers turn a 360° camera scan into their own walkthrough, 3D dollhouse, and measured floor plan with auto-named rooms, then copy an unbranded link to REALTOR.ca. No Matterport subscription.
Wellness · AI agent · Website
The management platform and public website for The Well, a Salt Spring Island wellness centre. Members, bookings, payments, inbox, and phone run in one system.
The agent — staff ask by text or voice and it searches every record, then prepares refunds, holds, room rentals, and member emails for one-tap approval. Visitors on the website and members in their portal get an assistant that answers from live data, and staff can take over any chat.
Parents design a personal AI companion for their child — its name, personality, and teaching style — that helps kids think things through instead of handing over answers. Blocked topics, daily limits, and readable chat logs stay with the parent, and every reply is safety-checked before the child sees it.
HELI LOG
Transport Canada compliant
A Transport Canada compliant digital journey log for helicopter operators — capture flight time, air time, and defects on a tablet, with a signed, tamper-evident record that replaces the paper logbook.
Some of the work we're proudest of belongs to owners who'd rather stay private. Here's what those systems do and what they're built on.
Replaced a pile of intake forms, waiver PDFs, and text threads with one private portal. Clients sign in with a six-digit email code, complete a digital waiver with a typed signature, log their nutrition, and message their coach in-app. The owner runs invitations, client records, onboarding progress, and email campaigns from a single admin view, with every client record stored privately and separately.
Time back — onboarding, waivers, and check-ins that used to be handled one message at a time now run themselves.
Ingredient prices, package sizes, suppliers, and stock levels live in one catalogue, and recipes cost themselves in whatever unit the baker actually works in. Logging an order writes a historical cost snapshot, deducts ingredients from stock, and records gross margin in one atomic database transaction — so a supplier price change shows up immediately in the food-cost percentage of every recipe it touches.
Time back — no more rebuilding a costing spreadsheet every time a supplier moves a price.
One host machine runs the agents; laptops, tablets, and phones join the same live sessions from anywhere. Devices discover the host automatically, sessions bridge over WebSockets, and off-network access comes up through an on-demand encrypted tunnel that needs no domain, account, or manual configuration to keep alive.
Time back — work that used to mean sitting at one desk can be started, checked, and redirected from a phone.
Members install the gym’s app on their phone, answer a short intake, and get a program generated for the equipment that gym actually owns. Scanning the code on a machine pulls up how to use it safely, and history carries forward between sessions, so staff aren’t hand-writing a new program for every member who walks in.
Time back — programming and equipment orientation that used to need a booked staff session are available to every member on demand.
Every Freedom Node client gets a private portal with an AI assistant that knows their project. Describe the change in plain language — new hours, a new form field, a fresh page, a tweak to how your system works — and an AI developer investigates, builds, tests, and publishes it. No ticket, no waiting on us, no extra invoice for the small stuff.
Hours appear in the footer and contact page, and booking has no Saturday slots. Plan: update both pages and open Saturday 9–3 bookings from November 1.
Checked on desktop and phone: Saturday slots appear from Nov 1, weekdays unchanged, no console errors. Not verified: a real customer payment.
Pushed 1 commit to main · live
Type what you want in your own words, from your phone or desk. No technical language needed.
The AI reads your actual project — code, pages, and past changes — finds what's already there, and plans the change itself. Nothing for you to approve.
It makes the change, tests it on desktop and phone sizes, and reports exactly what it checked and what it couldn't.
Most changes go live in about 15 minutes. Anything that needs a second look waits for Freedom Node approval first. Every step stays on record.
Years of running and advising small businesses sit behind every build — which is why the first conversation is about how your team actually works, not which framework we'd use.
“The impact Roy has had on my business has been absolutely massive. Before FrontDesk, we were manually downloading PDF files, using multiple dashboards, and inputting client information with repetitive redundancy. Roy sat down, figured out how our brokerage actually works, and built us a platform that handles listings, clients, transactions, content, and email in one place.
It saves our team hours each week, and allows us to confidently work with a significantly larger client pool. He's fast, responsive, and thinks about problems most developers wouldn't spot because he understands the business, not just the software. Best investment we've made yet.”
“We came to Roy with a people-and-process problem, not a software problem. He sat with how the studio actually ran before he built anything — and the admin that used to eat our evenings is simply gone.”
“Our costing lived in three spreadsheets and one person’s head. Now it’s one system the whole team can use, and we know the margin on an order before we agree to take it.”
“The responsiveness is what sets him apart. Questions get answered the same day, and the changes we raised on Monday were live for our staff by the end of the week.”
You talk to the person who built your system — not a ticket queue. Questions get answered the day you ask them.
A working version goes in front of your team fast, then gets shaped by how they really use it.
No handoff between the consultant who understands the work and the developer who writes it.
Roy blends business consulting with hands-on software building — the rare combination that lets a small business get both the strategy and the system from the same person. He works closely with owners and teams to understand the real work first, then builds technology that fits it exactly.
Freedom Node serves small businesses in Nelson, Cranbrook, Trail, Castlegar, Grand Forks, Vernon, Revelstoke, and Salt Spring Island. We help owners across these communities turn repetitive work into simpler systems.
Whether you run a service business, a wellness practice, a shop, or a growing operations team, the starting point is the same: understand the work, assess the costs, and choose one useful improvement.
Talk through your business workflow →AI can help sort incoming enquiries, extract details from documents, draft routine messages, and search internal information. We start with a repeated task, check the quality of the results, and build in human review where needed. Straightforward rules-based automation may be a better fit for some jobs.
It can, especially when several subscriptions cover overlapping features or still leave your team doing manual work. We compare your current fees and staff time with the cost of building, hosting, maintaining, and supporting a custom system. You get a recommendation based on the total cost; savings depend on your workflow and tools.
No. We can connect the tools that already work, automate the handoffs, and replace only the parts that create unnecessary cost or friction. A focused first project lets your team evaluate the improvement before expanding it.
